An Evening of Culture, Conversation & Wellness
Both evenings brought together media professionals, wellness enthusiasts,
and lifestyle influencers who experienced the many forms of Yerba Mate — from
traditional infusions to innovative desserts — accompanied by authentic
Argentine Chamamé music. The sessions featured engaging presentations on the
province of Misiones, the heartland of Yerba Mate cultivation, and its vibrant
culture and tourism.
Speakers emphasized that Yerba Mate is more than a beverage — it is a daily
ritual promoting productivity, focus, and balance. The drink complements every
part of the day — from a morning energizer to a refreshing afternoon companion
— symbolizing natural vitality and connection.
Health, Heritage & Performance A highlight of the event was a presentation
exploring Yerba Mate’s connection with global football icon Lionel Messi and
its popularity among Argentine athletes, who consume it for its natural energy,
focus, and recovery benefits. Guests learned about the traditional preparation
— brewed in a Mate gourd and sipped through a bombilla (metal straw) — and
Yerba Mate’s scientifically proven benefits:
● 90% more antioxidants than green tea
● Natural energy from mateine (a gentle
blend of caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline)
● Immunity support, improved metabolism,
and weight management
● Rich in magnesium, iron, thiamine,
vitamin B6, vitamin C, and sodium
● Zero total, saturated, or trans fat

Building the Yerba Mate Movement in India
While Yerba Mate remains a new beverage category in India, its momentum is
growing rapidly among health-conscious consumers and urban professionals. The
Embassy of Argentina, the Consulate, and the Government of Misiones plan to
expand awareness through collaborations with media, influencers, athletes,
football players, and wellness experts, positioning Yerba Mate as a natural,
everyday energy ritual for Indian lifestyles.
The Province of Misiones, Argentina, extends its heartfelt thanks to all
attendees for their participation and enthusiasm. The event served as a bridge
between cultures, inspiring new connections, deeper appreciation, and shared
wellness through the world of Yerba Mate.
