This partnership reflects Rubics Group’s
ongoing commitment to emerging talent, community building and creating
platforms for ambition to thrive
Rubics Group has come on board as an official sponsor of Mumbay FC for
the Durand Cup 2026, extending its commitment to sport and supporting the
growth of football in Mumbai. The association builds on Rubics Group’s growing
engagement with sport, following its support of the Lionel Messi G.O.A.T. India
Tour 2025 and its ownership of UP Dominators in the Pro Wrestling League,
reflecting the Group’s commitment to creating world-class sporting platforms,
nurturing emerging talent and building communities where ambition can thrive.
The partnership with Mumbay FC comes at a meaningful time for the club and for the city’s footballing
culture. Launched in 2024, Mumbay FC has been building its presence through
local competition and community engagement; its participation in the 2026
Durand Cup marks an important step onto a national stage. The club’s recent
progress, including its success in the Maharashtra State League and subsequent
promotion to I-League 3, has added momentum to its ambitions. For Rubics Group,
the association is rooted in a belief that potential needs the right
environment to flourish. This is central to its ‘Homes That Build Champions’
philosophy—an approach that sees communities not simply as physical spaces, but
as environments that can foster healthier, more active and aspirational lives.
“Sport is one of the strongest ways to build confidence, discipline,
resilience and a sense of community. We believe that talent can only reach its
potential when it has the right environment and opportunities around it. That
belief is at the heart of our ‘Homes That Build Champions’ philosophy. Through
our association with Mumbay FC, we are supporting not just a team, but the
ambition of young players and the larger football community in Mumbai. We
believe the city has tremendous potential to build a stronger football
ecosystem, and we are proud to contribute to that journey,” said Suhan
Shetty, Founder, Rubics Group.
Football provides a natural extension of this philosophy. Mumbai has
always been one of India’s major sporting hubs, with a sporting culture built
around participation, competition and ambition. While cricket has traditionally
dominated the city’s sporting identity, football has maintained deep roots
through its maidans, neighbourhood clubs, academies and grassroots communities.
Today, it is also finding resonance with a younger, digitally connected
audience.
Mumbay FC’s growing profile reflects this changing landscape. The club
has attracted interest from audiences beyond traditional football circles,
including through the involvement of actor and football enthusiast Tiger
Shroff, who has been associated with the club since its launch and has
participated in the Mumbai District League and training sessions. His
involvement illustrates how football can connect with wider youth culture and
bring new audiences into the sport. To build a lasting football ecosystem calls
for investment in talent, infrastructure, access and opportunity. That is where
Rubics Group sees an important role for corporate participation.
The Durand Cup, Asia’s oldest football tournament, provides Mumbay FC
with a significant platform to compete and gain national exposure. Led by
captain Mohammed Kaif Khan, the squad brings together emerging Indian
footballers across defence, midfield and attack, giving them an opportunity to
compete at one of the country’s most historic football tournaments.
For Rubics Group, backing Mumbay FC is consistent with its larger
commitment to building communities where health, ambition, discipline and opportunity
can coexist. Sport, in this context, becomes a way of creating pathways,
connecting communities and giving young people the confidence to pursue their
potential.
