NEW DELHI, INDIA, August 19, 2026 : Innovaccer today announced that Abhinav Shashank, Co-Founder and CEO of
Innovaccer, has been conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award by the Indian
Institute of Technology Kharagpur, the Institute's highest honor for its
alumni. The award was presented at IIT Kharagpur's Platinum Jubilee Foundation
Day ceremony on August 18, 2026.
The Distinguished Alumnus Award recognizes IIT Kharagpur alumni who
have made exceptional contributions to their fields and brought distinction to
the Institute through their professional achievements, leadership, and impact
on society. Past recipients include some of the most recognized names in global
technology and industry, among them Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet.
Shashank, who studied at IIT Kharagpur before going on to co-found Innovaccer,
joins a distinguished cohort of alumni who have gone on to shape industry,
science, and public life across the world.
Since co-founding Innovaccer in 2014, Shashank has built the company
into one of the most recognized healthcare AI platforms in the United States,
raising $675 million and reaching a $3.5 billion valuation while serving more
than 200 enterprise customers including some of the largest health systems and
payers in the country. Under his leadership, Innovaccer has been named a Leader
in the inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant for Healthcare Provider Industry Cloud
Platforms, recognized as 2026 Best in KLAS across three categories, and earned
a fourth appearance on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private
companies. The company's Healthcare Autonomy Platform today connects more than
100 million American patients and has generated more than $2.5 billion in
documented savings across its customer base.
"This recognition from IIT Kharagpur means more to me than I can
easily express," said Abhinav Shashank, Co-Founder and CEO of Innovaccer.
"IIT Kharagpur is where I first understood what it means to take on hard
problems with rigor and humility. Everything I have tried to build at
Innovaccer, the conviction that healthcare's data fragmentation could be
solved, that AI could make care delivery genuinely better for patients and
clinicians, traces back to the foundation that institution gave me. I am deeply
grateful to the institute for this honor, and I am especially grateful that my
parents could be there to receive it."
