PANIPAT, HARYANA : Geeta University (GU),
functioning under the Haryana State Private University Act, 2006, with 40+
years of legacy in education, has officially announced the massive overhaul of
its 40-acre campus with 8 acres outdoor sports, into a completely NextGen Smart
campus and administrative environment. Alongside this technological overhaul,
the University has also implemented a Flexible Choice Based Credit System
(CBCS), enabling students to create interdisciplinary academic and PASSION
programs in line with the changing professional environment.
Geeta
University,
carrying forward the legacy of the Geeta Group of Institutions, combines the
benefits of academic systems with the latest technological infrastructure. The
recent developments indicate a collective institutional strategy to optimize
campus operations, promote academic flexibility, and align educational delivery
with modern technological trends.
NextGen Smart Campus:
Institutional Automation Across the Student Lifecycle
The campus transformation at Geeta
University covers the entire student lifecycle, including attendance
management, academic delivery, grievance redressal, financial processing, and
campus connectivity. The aim is to automate internal processes and improve
accessibility and transparency for students, faculty, and the administrative
departments.
1.Digital Attendance System
Geeta University has moved from the conventional physical attendance system to a NextGen Smart digital attendance system. The new system automatically updates attendance records in real time with the central database, providing instant access to attendance information for faculty and administrative departments. The digital framework removes all potential discrepancies in manual attendance tracking and provides immediate access to attendance records for all stakeholders.
2.Smart Library Services
The library infrastructure in the
campus has been developed into a Smart Library with algorithm-based search
systems. Students can search for books, journals, and research papers using
contextual search queries, unlike before when they had to search using exact
title names. The system also provides students with personalized academic
recommendations based on user interaction patterns, thus optimizing resource
discovery efficiency.
3.Advanced E-Learning Platform
Geeta University has developed an integrated e-learning platform that includes attendance management, lecture notes, assignments, and quizzes. The NextGen Smart dashboards help students with systematic progress analysis and automated reminders. This integrated academic platform enables students to access their coursework and academic performance data in one digital space.
4.Integrated E-Governance System
For addressing non-academic
issues, Geeta University has developed an integrated e-governance platform.
Students can submit service requests regarding hostel maintenance, IT support,
and administrative services. The NextGen Smart system automatically classifies
and prioritizes the issues, thus ensuring trackable and accountable resolution
mechanisms.
5.Unified Fee and Scholarship Portal
The financial management operations have been integrated into a NextGen Smart unified portal. The system automates fee payment tracking, digital receipt generation, and real-time scholarship eligibility monitoring. By consolidating financial data, the University provides transparency and efficient financial communication.
6.Connected Campus Experience
The NextGen Smart learning systems have also been implemented in the campus connectivity infrastructure. The infrastructure now includes NextGen Smart security solutions, digital identity verification systems, navigation assistance tools, and automated helpdesk support, thus enabling a digitally integrated campus experience.
Flexible Choice Based Credit
System: Redefining Academic Structure
Geeta University has also
digitized its academic structure by introducing a Flexible Choice Based Credit
System (CBCS), which is described within the framework “Design Your Own Degree
Option.”
The CBCS system with NEP-2020
aligned degrees enables students from all 11 schools of the University to pair
their core subjects with electives offered by other departments. This system
enables students to gain cross-disciplinary knowledge in academics while
retaining subject expertise.
For example:
· Culinary Arts students can choose
to study taxation laws to gain business acumen.
· Engineering students can take
credit courses in music or photography to enhance creative skills.
· The model promotes academic
mobility between disciplines, enabling students to design their learning
journey as per their choice and professional goals.
In contrast to the inflexible
course structure, the CBCS system promotes structured flexibility while
ensuring credit integration as per the University’s academic rules.

provides multi-dimensional professional development within its campus setup.
International Presence and
Academic Engagement
The Panipat campus is currently
home to a diverse group of students representing 31 countries and 22 Indian
states. This is an indicator of the University’s presence in both domestic and
international regions. To formalise international academic engagement, Geeta
University has established Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with foreign
institutions. These include:
· University of São Paulo,
Brazil
· Murdoch University,
Australia
The MOUs enable student exchange
programs and academic collaborations. The agreements enable international
academic engagement while ensuring alignment with University policies.
Scholarship Allocation and
Financial Support Mechanisms
Financial accessibility is still a
structured part of the admission policy at Geeta University. ₹24 crore+
scholarships have been allocated by the administration. Applicants can avail
scholarships for tuition fee waivers of up to 100 per cent through the Geeta
University Test of Scholarship (GUTS) on the basis of merit assessment.
The NextGen Smart scholarship
management system is integrated with the financial system, allowing real-time
monitoring of scholarship eligibility status and tuition fee adjustments. By
doing so, the University provides structured documentation and transparency in
scholarship management.
Campus Infrastructure and Student
Facilities
The 40-acre campus is located on
NH-71A in Panipat and is designed to integrate academic infrastructure
with student facilities. Seven acres of the campus are allocated for sports
infrastructure, which provides space for sports training and recreational
activities. The University provides separate hostels for male and female
students, which supports structured multicultural campus life.
The campus is also used as a venue
for cultural and industrial interactions. Recent events conducted at the
University have included appearances by celebrities such as Kanika Kapoor and
Raftaar, which have helped increase campus interactions beyond academic
courses.
Institutional Development
The Geeta University makeover is a
structured institutional development process that includes automation of
operations, restructuring of curriculum, industry and global interactions.
The NextGen Smart campus
infrastructure integrates the following:
· Online attendance management
systems
· Smart Library services using
algorithms
· Enhanced e-learning
platforms
· Centralized e-governance
systems
· Structured financial and
scholarship management systems
Interconnected campus security and
navigation systems
At the same time, the Flexible
Choice Based Credit System enables students to opt for technical subjects along
with vocational and creative subjects, thus breaking down strict academic
streams.
The advanced computing programs in
fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Internet
of Things, Cloud Computing, and so on, help to align academic programs with
technology domains.
Industry-based training from the
Geeta Technical Hub and soft skills training from the Geeta Finishing School
enhance professional development in addition to academic learning.
International MOUs and a diverse student body also add to the University’s
academic environment.
Institutional Overview
As a state private university in
Haryana, Geeta University is constantly developing its academic and
administrative framework in a technology-enabled environment.
The shift from manual processes to
NextGen Smart systems represents a paradigm shift in the management of the
University. With automation, academic flexibility and industry engagement, the
University has brought its operational efficiency in sync with academic
delivery.
By integrating digital
infrastructure with an interdisciplinary approach to the industry-collaborated
