MUMBAI : While Bollywood often worships at the altar of
stardom, one filmmaker is placing a different bet: the irresistible, unshakable
story. As his digital thriller-comedy Sansani (Bachelorette Party Gone Wild)
revs up for premiere, writer-director-composer-producer Sammir I. Patel pulls
back the curtain on a career built on theatre grit, trusted brotherhoods, and
content that screams.
The Origin Story
“We ate, slept, and breathed theatre. That’s where the
multitasking madness was born.”
Patel’s roller-coaster began on the stage—writing, acting,
directing, producing. A fateful meeting with writer Manoj Santoshi on a TV set
pivoted his path into television, forging a partnership that would fuel every
medium. “Every format,” he says, “has been a masterclass.”
The Sansani Symphony: Cast & Sound
This isn’t just a film; it’s a collective. Patel assembles a
killer ensemble:
· The Leading Force: Chetsi Rene, Richa Jain, Hunar Thethi
& Shatakshi Kiran
· The Unforgettable ‘Gen-Z Don’: Brijendra Kala (also
co-producer)
· Special Voice Cameo: Comedy legend Johny Lever
· Gangster Trio: Abhishek Patel (‘Chikna’), Vishal Dubey
(‘Pencil’), Shivam Sharma (‘Kallu’)
· And Satya Narayan Mishra
On the scoreboard: Rising singer Rubai brings Patel’s original songs to life, while composer Samrat Tarafdar fuels the frenzy.
A Debut Voice: Hunar Thethi on Becoming Megha
For Hunar Thethi, who plays the sharp yet vulnerable
journalist Megha, the role was a breakthrough. “Sammir Sir’s workshop was the
actual reason Megha was built,” she shares. “He helped me understand her
traits—a serious, no-nonsense journalist with OCD, yet young and vulnerable.
Those insights shaped her.”
Her audition was a leap of faith. “I called Sir and said, ‘I
have to do this!’ He wasn’t strict on lines—just told me to focus on the
character. When I got the call that night saying ‘I see Megha in you,’ I was
genuinely the happiest!”
Reflecting on her debut, she adds, “Sansani taught me that
preparation and presence go hand in hand. The workshop showed me how to build a
character, and the shoot taught me how to live it.”
The Inner Circle: When Trust Directs
“Brijendra ji played my chacha in my first play. We clicked
and never stopped.”
Some bonds define a career. For Patel, it’s the unwavering
faith of veterans like Brijendra Kala (“pure brilliance”) and Johny Lever
(“He’s family now. He believes in my vision and always says yes.”).
The Patel Playbook: How Stories Get Chosen
One rule: If the thrill survives the final draft, mount the
film.
“Sansani stayed crazy-fun from page one to the last shoot
day—and we nailed it.”
The Multi-Hyphenate Machine
Writer. Director. Composer. Producer. For Patel, it’s a
seamless rhythm.
“I switch gears as needed.” His secret? Songs are done
before the shoot, and every frame is already edited to the score in his mind.
The Catalogue & The Pipeline
From the emotional depths of Milenge Jannat Mein to the
comedy of Hotel Beautifool and PFA: Love Mom & Dad, Patel’s filmography
refuses genres. Now, with Sansani, the momentum rolls into upcoming rom-drama
Kuch Pal Aur Ruk Jao and bold comedy Pink Vodka.
The Mission: A Quiet Revolution
Through SIP Productions, Patel is waging a content-first
war.
“I want audiences to choose films for their stories, not
just their stars. When that shift happens, Indian cinema leaps forward.”
With Sansani, he isn’t just dropping a film—he’s championing
a new era. One where the only superstar that matters is the story itself.
