Candolim,
Goa : In the heart of Candolim, where the
sun always shines and conversations flow freely, a new kind of restaurant has
quietly opened its doors. Meet Toula Bar & Kitchen, a
beautifully warm and spirited space that brings together the bold flavours of
the Mediterranean and the soulfulness of Asia with a generous serving of Goan
charm.
Brought to
life by the Sol Beso Hospitality Group, Toula isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a thoughtfully
designed experience, one that’s rooted in culture, comfort, and community. From
sun-dappled lunches and golden-hour signature blends to lively
dinners under the stars, Toula shifts its mood with the day — always warm,
always welcoming.
A Space That Speaks
Designed by
local talents Rosette and Amit Sardesai, Toula’s interiors are instantly
transportive — think curved arches, lime-washed walls, bamboo canopies, and a
palette inspired by nature. The aesthetic pays homage to Mediterranean
courtyards and Asian tea houses, striking a beautiful balance between warmth
and serenity, perfectly suited to Goa’s laid-back charm.
Toula
unfolds through three distinct dining spaces, each with its own personality.
The Earth Room is sunlit and serene, ideal for intimate meals or quiet
afternoon catch ups. The Water Court offers a tranquil garden escape built
around a peaceful central water feature, perfect for breezy brunches or relaxed
dinners. And then there’s the Fire Deck — a lively rooftop terrace centered around
a wood-fired pizza oven, where the energy naturally builds as the sun goes
down. At Toula, every corner is designed to make you feel something and invite
you to stay just a little longer.
Flavours That Travel – Yet Feel
Familiar
At Toula,
the food is just as intentional as the space. The menu is a celebration of
cultures, a carefully curated harmony of ingredients and influences from the
Mediterranean coast to Asian kitchens. Expect bold flavours, fresh seasonal
produce, soulful spices, and plates that feel both exciting and comforting.
It’s all part of Toula’s MEDITERRASIAN philosophy — where food isn’t about
fusion for the sake of novelty, but about thoughtful, meaningful combinations.
Every dish tells a story of connection, travel, and homecoming.
Small plates
set the tone with crunch and creativity — think Crackling Spinach with
Watermelon Salsa, Kimchi Arancini, umami-rich Ginger-Crumbed Pork Bites, and
punchy Malaysian Prawn Satay. For something lighter, the Wholesome Yasai Salad
pops with freshness while the Truffle Tuna Crudo delivers sleek indulgence.
Sparking
curiosity and conversation, Seekh in a Blanket and Bang-Bang Chicken are
instant crowd-pleasers. Sushi fans can dive into bold flavours of the Dragon
Roll with dynamite sauce, the indulgent Coastal Crab, or silky Wild Salmon
Nigiri. Dumpling lovers, meanwhile, get their fix with Jade Vegetable Crystal,
Soupy Pork, and Cantonese Prawn, all delicate, juicy, and full of flavour.
From the
“All Things Bowl” lineup, comfort comes steaming in Miso Ramen or the
coconut-rich Jaffna Bowl. For mains, elegance shines in the Grilled Sea Bass
with wasabi mash and Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli, while Bhuna Gosht Kulzetta
and Chicken Cafreal bring hearty, home-style soul.
Round out
your experience with Sizzling Charcoal Walnut Brownie or Red Ruby, for a
memorable finale to a MediterrAsian feast.
Signature
Blends That Tell a Story
To sip?
Expect signature blends with character — bold, vibrant, and inspired by the
kitchen’s adventurous spirit. Choose from creations like Mi Chiamo
TOULA (a fragrant vodka infusion with lemongrass, galangal, and a spiced
peanut rim), Picante Caliente (a zesty mix of coriander, jalapeño,
and agave spirit), and Freida Candolim (a Goan-Mexican twist on the
negroni).
Other
highlights include Dance With The Devil (passion fruit, bourbon,
and a fiery hint of Tabasco), the daring Italian Kiss (coffee meets
citrus), tropical Spicy Mango Mama, and Purple Haze (a
jamun and gin twist on a sour). For a refreshing lift, Tokyo Iced Tea
delivers a green tea–infused punch, Welcome to the Jungle takes you
on a tropical gin adventure, and Bourbon in a Pickle surprises with
jalapeño brine and ginger ale. Each crafted mix is designed to spark discovery
and invite guests to linger.
Who’s
Behind Toula?
Toula is the
dream project of siblings Payal Sangwan and Aman Mangla,
a duo whose love for hospitality runs deep. With a strong foundation in luxury
hotels (including the iconic Holiday Inn Goa Candolim), their latest venture is
personal, passionate, and deeply rooted in their belief that food has the power
to bring people together.
Supporting
them is Ivan Ravi Pinto, F&B Director and a well-known name in
Goa’s dining landscape. With over 15 years of experience at places like Olive
and Thalassa, Ivan brings a rare mix of creativity and calm to the table —
along with an uncompromising eye for detail and a deep understanding of what
makes a restaurant truly special.
A New Kind of Gathering Place
Whether you
are in the mood for a quiet weekday lunch, a romantic dinner, a pizza night
with the gang, or a relaxed evening with signature blends by the garden, Toula
is designed for it all. It is the kind of place that feels like a vacation even
when you live just down the road.
So if you
are in Goa, come by. Bring your appetite, your stories, and your people. At
Toula, you will always find a seat at the table and something new to discover.
