Bhubaneswar : Reflecting a shared spirit of environmental stewardship, ODM Educational Group, one of India's most respected educational
organisations, celebrated Earth Day across all its campuses with remarkable
zeal and purpose. Anchored by this year's global theme, "Our Power, Our
Planet," students across all ODM
schools actively participated in initiatives designed to promote environmental
awareness and sustainable living.
From ODM Public School and ODM Global School in Bhubaneswar to ODM International
Schools in Angul, Gurugram, Durgapur, and ODM Sapphire
Global School in Ranchi,
the day commenced with
special assemblies, where educators and students highlighted urgent challenges
facing our planet, including climate change, pollution, and deforestation, and
the collective responsibility of every individual to protect and preserve
Earth.
A wave of eco-consciousness swept
through all grade
levels, as students
from Pre-Primary to Grade
VIII engaged in activities designed
to instil environmental awareness. The day featured
seed-plantation drives, eco-themed art and craft sessions, community clean-ups,
engaging quizzes, and powerful performances, such as street plays and skits
like "Earth's Cry", each reinforcing the urgency of ecological
preservation.
Dr. Satyabrata Minaketan, Chairman
of ODM Educational Group, shared his thoughts on the
occasion: "Witnessing
the passion and proactive engagement of our students in honour of our planet fills me with immense pride. Their understanding of environmental responsibility and their commitment to action are crucial steps
towards building a sustainable future.
Earth Day isn't
just a date on the calendar—it's a reminder of our duty to leave this
world better than we found it.
And our students are already showing
the way."
Adding to this, Mr. Swoyan Satyendu,
CEO of ODM Educational Group, echoed
this sentiment, saying, "World Earth Day is a vital
reminder of our interconnectedness with nature. The diverse activities
undertaken across our campuses demonstrate our collective commitment to promoting environmental awareness and empowering our students to become conscious and responsible stewards of the Earth."
Reflecting the spirit of the day, Ananya Mishra, a student of Grade VII, shared, "We're not just
cleaning or planting for Earth
Day. We're doing
this because it's our responsibility every day."
With over 7,000 students participating across all
campuses, the Earth Day celebrations at the schools of ODM Educational Group
serve as a powerful reaffirmation of the organisation's ongoing commitment to environmental education and encouraging a generation deeply
invested in the well-being of our planet.
